چکیده

The government policies and benefits led to the surge in penetration of Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) Battery (BEVs) into both public private sectors. Power Grids are dynamic with load generation varying, wide spread adoption PHEVs can jeopardize endanger operation security distribution grids due overloading congestion. This paper develops two optimization models, one is for routing algorithm find minimum energy consumption Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) system a collegiate environment. other model charging maximum number interfaced American (AEP) utility system. Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) used determine schedules minimize power overloading. MILP also optimum schedule BEVs satisfy passenger demand transit Different strategies have been developed, their effects on voltage profile losses illustrated. We real-time data PRT algorithm. PHEV customers categorized different real-world Demand Response (DR) participants capable flattening curve. A time series simulation feeder test performed show feasibility proposed methods. Case studies AEP West Virginia University transportation were carried out. results demonstrate effectiveness our framework reducing peak satisfying while utilizing BEVs.

A MILP Model for Coordinated Charging of Electric Vehicles in Smart Unbalanced LV Distribution Networks Using Floating Charge Method

In this paper, a mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) model is proposed to solve the charging problem of electric vehicles (EVs) using floating charge method meaning that the EV, could be supplied by each of the three phases connected to a special bus. In other words, unlike a usual household load which is only supplied by a particular phase, in the floating charge method it is assumed that ...

Optimal Intelligent Control of Plug-in Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles in Smart Electric Grids

In this paper, Plug-in Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (PFCEV) is considered with dual power sources including Fuel Cell (FC) and battery Energy Storage. In order to respond to a transient power demand, usually supercapacitor energy storage device is combined with fuel cell to create a hybrid system with high energy density of fuel cell and the high power density of battery. In order to simulate the...

Charging electric vehicles in the smart grid

High level challenges that motivate the evolution towards smart grids include (i) the anticipated electrification of transportation, including electrical vehicles (EVs), and (ii) the increasing penetration of distributed renewable energy sources (DRES). This chapter will discuss how the extra grid load stemming from the EVs can be handled, including the context of reduced control over power gen...

Improving the resilience of active distribution networks by optimal charging/discharging management of electric vehicles in parking lots

In the event of a severe incident with a high impact and low probability of occurrence, distribution networks may be separated from upstream networks and several feeders may be disconnected simultaneously within the distribution networks. In such circumstances, to maximize the resilience of the distribution networks and to prevent long-term global outages, they are reconfigured and islanded to ...

Optimal Charging Scheduling of Electric Vehicles in Smart Grids by Heuristic Algorithms

Transportation electrification has become an important issue in recent decades and the large scale deployment of electric vehicles (EVs) has yet to be achieved. The smart coordination of EV demand addresses an improvement in the flexibility of power systems and reduces the costs of power system investment. The uncertainty in EV drivers’ behaviour is one of the main problems to solve to obtain a...
